Most players would be happy batting .285 with 31 home runs, 75 RBI, 104 runs scored, and 21 stolen bases, but it was a sub-standard year for the Mick.
While his numbers may have been a bit disappointing that year, his 1959 Topps baseball card is quite the opposite.
The red background makes the image of Mantle pop, creating one of his best-looking baseball cards with off-the-charts eye appeal.
Like most any set in which he appeared during the vintage era, this is the most expensive card in the checklist.
