This engine was recently rebuilt, then completely torn back down and redone after a rod bolt failure. Everything has been professionally inspected, cleaned, and reconditioned. No shortcuts, no junk parts. Build Details: • New Silv-O-Lite pistons & rings
• Crankshaft freshly reground
– .020 mains – .030 rods
• Reconditioned rods with ARP bolts (not cheap hardware)
• New rod & main bearings
• One-piece Track Boss 1-piece rear main seal, (retails ~$100 by itself) OEM rear main are leaky problems. You'll thank me later for this upgrade.
• New lifters – OEM builder stock from 20 years ago
• OEM camshaft – never used NOS This is better steel than modern steel. Chosen intentionally (less prone to lobe failure than modern offshore cams). You wont need a new cam break-in miracle.
• New oil pump
• New straight-up timing set
• Valve seats replaced
• Edelbrock Performer 400 intake included Why this build matters: This engine corrects the smog-era compression problems with the 15cc pistons and straight-up timing set. It wakes the 400M up without sacrificing reliability. The cam & lifters are old-stock OEM pieces from before today’s quality issues – no cheap import junk here. This will reduce the risk of cam wipe. That alone is worth its weight in gold. This was not a hack repair – the rod bolt issue was addressed the right way with full teardown, machine work, and quality hardware. Condition: Fully disassembled, cleaned, and reconditioned
