Goal enhances safety by absorbing shock from dunks and rim hanging. Rim deflects under heavy load and returns to position once load is removed. Designed to withstand shock loads due to a player slam dunking and/or hanging on the rim, the Breakaway Basketball Goal improves player safety. Rim deflects down when a static load greater than set point is applied, and returns to the playing position once the load is removed. The adjustable shock absorbing release mechanism is fully concealed within a protective cover. Rim is 5/8 (16 mm) diameter steel with twelve no tie net attachment clips welded to the rim.
