These are hand-carved Balinese wooden statues, depicting the figures of Rama and Sita and are made to hang on a wall.

They are a pair of traditional Indonesian collectibles often used as home decor for protection and healing.

The figures are intricately detailed and painted with off-white (light beige), gold, some red, blue and green accents. They have not been refinished like others I have seen, so they have a more genuine appearance.

They measure 39 inches in height. And have a hanging brace on the back for wall display, which is what they were made for since the back half of the figures is flat.

There is damage to the nose of one, and a fabric purse hangs off the other, causing me to believe they were venerated. The statues are a common representation of the love story of Rama and Shinta from the Hindu epic, the Ramayana.
