PayPalAll-original vintage Silvertone U-1, made by Danelectro for Sears in the late ’50s / early ’60s. With the original lipstick pickup, famous for its clear, jangly, garage-rock tone.
Original lipstick pickup, electronics, knobs & hardware
Classic black finish with very light vintage wear. As seen in the photos, at some point, someone put a different pick guard on it, so there are some extra holes in the top of the body.
Lightweight Masonite/ alder body, great neck, very playable even past the 12th fret on most frets. A bridge upgrade would help with this, but the original bridge has its limitations.
Includes original vintage hard case, which is in good shape, but has signs of wear/ use.
The U-1’s Masonite body and lipstick pickup design helped define early electric guitar sounds and are still loved for blues, surf, garage, and indie tones.
