While KSTU was starting on channel 20, a decade-long proceeding began to assign VHFchannel 13 to Salt Lake City, which was made available in 1980.
KSTU, Springfield Television of Utah broke into the big three market in September 1978, broadcasting on the UHF band width. (Did you ever have a round Antenna?) Featuring programming made up of older movies, cartoons and off network classic TV drama and sitcoms the station also hosted a local, live children's show, "Capt. Cutlass, with Scott Curran. DID YOU EVER ATTEND THE "Capt. Cutlass Show?"
