Meet Charlotte! She is a special Pekin duck. Charlotte came to us after being abandoned with an old dislocated elbow injury and bumblefoot. Her bumblefoot was treated, but she will need Gabapentin meds lifelong to help with her elbow pain. Don't let it discourage you though! She takes her meds like a champ and is otherwise healthy. These meds are also quite cheap (some places have it for $10 a month) and we will fund medication the first few months. Charlotte's ideal home would be an all female flock so her wing doesn't get injured during mating season. She could also go to a home where drakes are separated. Ducks living requirements also include a completely enclosed area for the birds to be secured in at night every night, to prevent predator attacks.
