We are local breeders who own our own laptop ultrasound machine with a convex probe and offer pregnancy ultrasound confirmations for fellow breeders. Many ultrasound services charge $100+ for appointments. We offer the service for $50.
Ultrasound appointments are best scheduled between Day 28–35 post-breeding, which is the ideal window to confirm pregnancy in dogs.
What to Expect
- Appointments typically take 20 minutes
- Large monitor for easy viewing
- You’re welcome to take photos or videos during the scan
- Calm, low-stress, breeder-friendly setting
This service is for pregnant vs. not pregnant confirmation. While we’re happy to make informal observations about possible litter size, ultrasounds are not reliable for counting puppies. Puppies can overlap or appear from different angles, so counts are never guaranteed.
Depending on how far along your dam is, it's sometimes possible to observe slight movements or early activity from the puppies, though this can vary by dog size, breed and litter. Seeing heartbeats on our machine is not guaranteed.
Preparation
Please shave your dog’s belly prior to arrival to allow for the clearest imaging and a quicker scan. We can perform ultrasounds prior to 28 days, but we do not recommend coming too early for best viewing results. If you do not have a way to shave her, you can borrow our shaving & vacuum system for an additional $15, but you will need to shave her yourself.
