VenmoThis is Pepper. She is a purebred giant schnauzer. She’s 1 year old. We got her at 6 months old from a local breeder where she was living on a farm. We had her fixed a couple of months ago and she’s up to date on all of her shots.
We want her to go to the best home for her that will be able to give her everything that she needs. She is a very sweet and playful dog. She is great with all other dogs (cats unknown). At only a year old she is definitely still in her puppy phase of life. She is not fully potty trained. She understands “potty” and goes when she’s let out to do so. She can go the whole night with no accidents. However, she has had trouble having accidents when she’s in her kennel. We’re not sure how she’d do in the house unattended because when we have her out of her kennel, she is always on a leash close to us since she’s still young. We’ve had her checked by a vet and tested her urine and there are no issues. Our research has showed us that this breed can have what is called an immature bladder and they can take longer to be potty trained.
We are not looking to rehome her where there are children in the home. She is absolutely wonderful with our kids and super sweet with our kids, but when kids she is not familiar with come over, she barks at them aggressively. Since she’s on a leash she is unable to get close enough to do anything else, but we are nervous about what could happen if she were off leash and a child comes into our home. This is the reason we are making this really difficult decision. We are not comfortable with the unpredictability with kids coming in and out of our house.
She definitely needs a home where someone can give her lots of time and exercise as well as really good training. We know she is a fantastic dog and will thrive in the right home. We are not concerned with making money, and are concerned about her going to the right home. Please message to set up a time to come and meet her.
