I'm a middle-aged bass player looking for a casual, reasonably regular chance to play with like-minded people.
I'm lucky to have started early in music (piano, sax, guitar) and have really settled into bass as my main instrument. That stated, I don't play as much as I'd like. I'm looking to play very informally and imagine once or twice a month (or less) a pretty reasonable goal.
I've been playing bass for over 35 years--I'm pretty comfortable on my instrument. I'm looking for folks in a similar spot--comfortable and knowledgeable in their playing but not too serious (just yet) about commitment, gigging, or rigorous theory, etc.
In the long run, I'd be interested in practicing once a week and playing out once every one to three months; for now, though, I'd love to play in someone's basement or garage for fun.
I like funk and rock (classic through sort-of-hard) and have played signer/songwriter stuff, irish folk/rock, and faked my way through some jazz. I'm pretty open to most any style of music and missed playing with horns for quite a while. I've got good, old-school gear and the ability/willingness to move it.
I'm in Kimball Junction and willing to go to the SL valley, eastern/central Summit County, and places similarly nearby.
