ApplePayFabrizio Giannini (b.1912) commenced his violinmaking in 1934. He had an extremely personal style as evidenced by this violin. This
violin has a slightly shorter rib structure and dramatically fluting. Most striking of all is the cabernet-red varnish which is a mixture of
both oil and spirt bases and is of superb and unique quality. This varnish has a vivid color and luminosity which must be seen in person
to be fully appreciated. The instrument is wonderfully, almost impossibly light in the hand. It has a lively powerful tone that is bright,
breathy, complex and rich. This is an extremely healthy instrument and would be best placed in the hands of an advanced or profession-
al musician looking for a hint of distinction.
