Meet Bailey!

We currently have Bailey listed as an Irish Wolfhound mix, but the more we get to know her, the more convinced we are that she may actually be a Berger Picard (French Shepherd) mix—a rare rustic herding breed from France. While we can't know her breed for certain without a DNA test, her looks, personality, and mannerisms fit the breed remarkably well.

The Berger Picard is known for being intelligent, loyal, energetic, and deeply devoted to its family. They're sensitive, eager to learn, naturally protective without being excessive barkers, and often reserved with strangers until they've had time to build trust.

That description could have been written about Bailey.

Bailey is incredibly sweet and absolutely adores her people. She can be a little shy when meeting someone new, so slow introductions are important. Give her a little patience and she'll reward you with unwavering loyalty and affection. Once you've earned her trust, you're part of her inner circle for life.

She's the perfect companion for someone who wants a dog by their side. Whether you're heading out on an adventure, running errands, or relaxing on the couch, Bailey simply wants to be with her favorite person.

Bailey is dog selective. She would much rather soak up all of your attention herself, although with the right canine companion and proper introductions, she may be willing to share her home.

Now for Bailey's special talent...she firmly believes fences are merely suggestions! She is an excellent climber and should always be on a leash or securely managed when outdoors. She's also continuing to work on her leash manners, so her new family should be committed to ongoing training and giving her the mental and physical exercise she thrives on. The more she's included in life's adventures, the happier and more confident she becomes.

Bailey would be happiest with someone who enjoys taking their dog along for the ride and doesn't leave her alone for long stretches. She's looking for a true partnership with her forever person.
