Brand NEW, never used drop in Commercial Stainless steel sinks for Motorhome, van conversion, tiny house, outdoor barbecue, bar sink. When counter space is tight, the small horizontal width and length of these sinks is perfect. The average depth of countertops in van conversions is typically around 24 to 25 inches. Maybe 22 in a small low top.
If you've ever spent any amount of time on the road, you've probably noticed how nice it is or how nice it would be to have a functional sink. That said, there's nothing worse than finding out your sink is too small AFTER you've bought and installed it. I know I've also come across a more than a few posts about people regretting installing too small, useless sink in their conversions and tiny houses. Always seems to be one of the biggest regrets. When just washing your hands gets water everywhere, a pan of any size is a real pain.
These are American made by Just Mfg Co. The last time I checked they wholesale at 5-600 plus. Retail is higher. These aren't in the same universe as the flimsy Chinese fare that account for pretty much all consumer and RV sinks. Designed and manufactured to be used in hospitals, labs, institutions, etc, they MUST hold up to decades of abuse. Not just water. Corrosive chemicals galore.
These were slated to go into a government building and they could not skimp on quality. They were also manufactured long enough ago to allow for higher quality raw materials and the labor intensive fine finishing than possible in today's market. I don't really know why I have these but I do and only have few left. Most of them went to friends and family for their own projects. Sinks like these, at this price, are a rare occurrence.
There's a slew of benefits to a small sink with a deep basin. -There's enough volume to actually wash a pan, a dish, etc without getting water everywhere. -can be filled up with ice to keep meat/food/drinks cold for shortish periods without needing to be drained so nothing gets submerged. The thick insulation keeps cold for longer periods it also cuts down on the noise. -You can actually wash small amounts of laundry on the road. Especially socks, underwear, t-shirts(a really big deal in van life. Laundromats aren't always around when you need them. -cover with a fitted cutting board that acts as a work surface as well as a lid. Often, I'll cook some stew at one site, drop the whole pot in the sink, throw in a towel for insulation. The stew stays hot for quite awhile. -There's no need for any storage space to be lost either. When not in use a ton can be stored inside this. There's lots of aftermarket stainless steel racks that easily lift in and out for this exact purpose. -You can let your wet pans drip dry. Keeps your dish towels from smelling moldy all the time. The list goes on... The benefits far out weigh the few extra inches it takes up. I know I wouldn't give mine up for anything. There's something about really well made stuff. Like your favorite chefs knife or piece of functional furniture. In a space as small as a van conversion, everything in it needs to make you feel good. Take a moment to check out the mirror polish on all the corners. I may switch vehicles down the road but I'll probably keep the sinks.
Measurements: -Length 19 (side to side) -width 17.5 (front to back) -Depth of basin 10.5 -drain diameter is 3 1/2, 3 5/8 actual so you can use standard plumbing.
Just Manufacturing’s commercial grade stainless steel sinks and commercial plumbing fixtures offer flexible solutions with the broadest product offering in the industry. We use 18-8 type 304 certified USA milled stainless steel.
