ApplePay1952 Gibson ES-175
Really nice 73 year old player ES-175!
Great looking and sounding arch top. No structural issues, really comfortable neck, age appropriate patina and play wear.
The pickup, knobs and pots are original, the volume pot has good sweep from 7 - 10 but below 7 it fades out substantially. It could probably use a cleaning or stand to be replaced but as it looks to be original it's been left in place for the next owner to decide. It plays just fine wide open, and the original P-90 sounds as sweet as you'd imagine.
The pick guard is a replacement but the original is included along with the original hardware (the original pick guard has a slight warp which is common but could easily be flattened out with a bit of heat and re-installed).
The tailpiece is a Gibson OEM replacement (not a third party reproduction) from the early 2000's and fit perfectly in the original holes.
There is a very old repair of the input jack that is incredibly solid and has been reinforced from inside (see photo of the interior). No structural or functional issues at all.
The finish looks to be all original and everything looks uniform under black light. There is honest play wear along the neck that has not been touched up.
At some point someone had put 70's Schaller tuners on, the additional holes have been filled and correct drop in replacements have been installed.
The nut looks to be original, and it looks like there may have been a refret done at some point. The frets on there now are wider than you would expect on early 50's Gibsons but it was a pro job and there is no major wear or divots on the frets and the guitar plays well up and down the neck. There are no major divots on the Brazilian rosewood fretboard and no major shrinkage on the inlays. The truss rod cover is original and the truss rod functions as it should.
The neck feels slimmer than measurements suggest, it doesn't have such a deep C carve and is probably somewhere between a C and a D.
Nut width: 43.5mm
Fret Depth 1st fret: .89"
Fret Depth 10th fret 1"
Includes an after market hardcase. Please message with any questions.
