This jeep ran very well until the starter stuck like old jeeps sometimes do. My son didn't know to open hood and pop it one like the old days, so it needs a portion of a wire harness. Maybe a new starter which is a simple fix. Everything else is good to go. Engine is a straight 6, not many miles for the year and it's geared low already for the out doors. It needs a little love but, it's not too much of a project to take up in the hills. It has a soft top also. And a bar hitch to go on the front of bumper for pulling behind a truck.
It would make a great moab ride! It was running very well, but being geared low, it'll only get to about 60 miles an hour tops on the freeway. It would be perfect to go just around town.
I personally didn't want to get rid of it. But I haven't gotten around to fixing the wire harness and I just don't like it to sit there.. At that time when it was being driven around, it had a full tuneup and new spark plug wires. I was offered 5000 not too long ago, but due to the fact, it needs a portion of the wire harness now that I'm finally going to be selling it, I'll go as low as 4500. It's not a parts vehicle, everything else on it was great. But, obviously it's an older Jeep. But it was running really well.
I only said fair due to its age. It's in pretty good condition except for the wire harness area. I did price a brand new full wire harness, and it was a grand, but I have had many people tell me that you can just replace the area that was damaged. That's all up to you.. but it would be a great vehicle for a round town or up in the hills for a family.
