Check out my Facebook page for videos. Kalub Curran cowhorses What to expect in my program First they will get ridden 5-6 days a week —For colt starting they will be able to: Stand while being saddled Be gentle Stand for the farrier Lope easily in the right and left lead Follow their nose and be soft Learn how to spin Side pass both ways Hind quarter yield Two track Stop soft Backup Drag a small log Swing a rope over their back
Show horse colts They will be able to do everything before mentioned as well as work cattle and learn how to cut, go down the fence and rein. I work on lead changes, spins, run downs and stops. In the herd work I get them drawing well and reading cattle, and eventually able to cut with my hand down. Reined work they will look soft and easy and perform the maneuvers well.
Our Facilities- We Do our best to keep stalls cleaned and dry. We feed good quality second crop alfalfa or grass depending on need. Horses in indoor stalls get a run or turned out everyday with shavings for bedding. Our ground is sandy and excellent for training and taking care of those hooves. In the Summer we wash horses regularly if not daily so they stay clean.
Come stop by and see my program if you’re curious.
