Rob- he started out as Reba, lovingly named because I dropped him as a 1 day old and my family termed him as a survivor. Walks up to you, super loving and I am so sad he’s a him. I have a beautiful show silkie rooster already. I was hesitant at first to have a rooster for multiple reasons, one I’m in city limits. I seen the crow collars and I was super nervous I’d choke out my bird. I admittedly have a rooster pen in the house that I use pads in and clean every day so he can come in and not go outside until after sound curfew, could it be in the garage and be less work? Yup. what he provides is guidance, structure, safety for my sweet hens who let’s be honest, have 0 survival instinct. it also provides me more eggs as hens lay more having the rooster around. Anyone who has decided to take on silkies has likely experienced all the snuggles and fun as well as the sad reality that their elevator does not quite go to the top at moments. Rob is beautiful and is top backyard silkie quality if you would like to add him to your flock, I am happy to be accommodating if the placement is right.
