Meet Jasper, Jasper is a 17 yo paint mare, she stands at 14.2hh (taped) she is UTD on vaccinations and dewormer, including her rabies vaccine. She is easy to catch, stands well tied, and stands for the farrier.
her only fault is that she does need some very light maintenance, she has very early onset arthritis in her hind right leg, it doesn't bother her if she's being ridden at a walk/trot but we give her a small dose of bute if we plan to to ride her at a canter, just to keep her comfortable.
She is not buddy sour and will ride out alone, or with other horses. She's generally in the middle of the pecking order with other horses, and gets along well with other mares and geldings. (Not sure about stallions). She has no bite, kick, rear, or bolt, the worst spook she had was when a kid rode past her on a bike and she sidestepped a little then settled right back down, her instinct is to pause and observe rather than bolt if she sees something scary. She does well on trail rides, and riding around cars, traffic, people, ect.
She isn't mareish much at all, except for the occasional tail flick or mild head shake if she feels extra sassy in the wintertime. She's never done anything stupid or dangerous, and is super responsive under saddle, she neck-reins wonderfully and is super soft in the mouth.
She is such an incredible horse and would be a great addition to any household, maybe a good lesson horse? She would be perfect for any rider who is a confident beginner or better. We've had little kids on her and she did amazing, we led them around for a few minutes till the kids were comfortable and then let them ride her around on their own. She's very good at taking care of her riders and will behave accordingly, if someone inexperienced is riding, She'll slow down, or if a more confident rider wants to pick up the pace she'll do that without complaint as well.
She is so smart and would exell at anything someone had the time to teach her, we do not want to sell her, but my daughter is having health issues and can't work her very often, and it's not fair to keep Jasper if we can't give her the time and attention she deserves.
We are happy to answer any questions, we cannot deliver her because we don't have a horse trailer.
thanks for reading, hope to hear from you.
