VenmoWe were gifted two axolotls and don't have the tank space for both, so striving to re-home this one!
I believe it is a male, he is a white albino variation.
Some basics to know:
• A single Axolotl is best in a 30 gallon tank. • They need cool water, 60-65° is ideal. You need a thermometer, possibly a tank chiller. • They prefer low flow currents so a submersible sponge filter is recommended. If using a standard over the side aquarium filter just be sure it is a quiet flow/ adjustable water movement. • Their tanks should have a bare bottom or fine sand, NO fish tank gravel. Driftwood, large slate stones, and places to hide are good. Certain kinds of live plants are suitable, even beneficial. • Axolotls are solitary, the list of possible tank mates is short and specialized. • Their eyesight is bad, they will try to chomp most anything (hence no gravel substrate, no tank mates, no accessories smaller than their head). • Ours have been eating earth worms/ red wrigglers, you can try other Lotl foods but this is what he's accustomed to. 1 to 1.5in is best so you may need to cut larger worms in half. Feed once every 2-3 days. • Like most aquariums you'll have to keep an eye on water quality and change it out regularly, water conditioner may be needed. • Axolotls can live a long time (10+ years) if cared for properly. I think this guy is about 1-2 yrs currently.
To sum up what you need: \
Listed at $10, just want him to a good home!
