VenmoIt’s 1831, and you’ve come down from a year of trapping in the Rocky Mountains to St. Louis. You’re looking for a heavier knife than your Green River skinner. You’ve heard the tale of Jim Bowie and The Sandbar fight, so you go to a blacksmiths shop and ask him to build you a similar blade. He explains that no one really knows what the knife looks like, but he can build you a sturdy all-around knife- one that’s great for protection, camp chores, and taking care of the tougher butchering of the larger critters in the West.
This knife is built along those lines. It’s a drop-point Bowie style, made of high carbon steel, carefully heat treated and tempered for hardness and flexibility. The blade is 7 ½ inches long and sharpened to a fine edge. Blade is 1/8 inch thick. Overall length is 12 inches. The handle is a faux-Pearl color and is offset by a polished steel guard. The steel is hard enough to keep the edge through cutting kindling or cleaning a buffalo. It’s a knife any trapper of the day would be proud to own.
Comes with the frontier style leather scabbard or the display plaque (or both for an additional $15).
