I bought these super awesome, but totally overkill boots for my son as encouragement to go backpacking with me. In the time between getting the boots and this summer's backpacking season, my son grew a ton and the boots will no longer fit him - if you can imagine outgrowing a size 13. So, the boots were never used, and stored in their original box.

There is one little factory defect: The boots have a tongue pad that is permanently secured to the boot, but seperates from the tongue via velcro. On the right boot, in between the tongue and the pad, a seam on the pad has failed (See Pictures). The failed seam won't affect the integrity of the boot because the pad is not a structural component of the boots. And, because the failed seam is tucked away inbetween the tongue and pad, it won't rub on anything or affect how wearing the boot feels. I believe that someone handy with a needle and thread and maybe some glue could make a adequate repair.
