Beautiful 1963 Airstream Land Yacht (28 ft) ready for its next chapter. This is a classic 13-panel Airstream, lighter than modern models with an approximate dry weight of 3,700 lbs, making it easier to tow. Standard 2” ball (does not use larger 2 5/8 ball of newer much heavier airstreams).
This trailer is in phenomenal structural condition and has had major mechanical updates. Frame is great. I always hoped to keep it fairly original, as it still carries its original paint and vintage character. In many ways it feels like a time capsule.
Life has brought other projects that require my attention, so I’m hoping it goes to someone who has the time and passion to finish the details and make it their own.
With just a few finishing touches, this trailer could be worth substantially more.
Highlights / Updates
• Recently polished exterior (includes $800 professional polisher) • Brand new flooring installed that keeps with the original vintage look • All new plumbing (visible and easy to inspect) • New water heater • New water pump • New Toilet • Updated electrical • Recently refinished gas tanks and fuel valve • Original stove works great • Original furnace works great • Brand new furnace included if someone prefers to install it later • New axles, torsion bars, and brakes – $5,000 investment • Newly recovered couches – $6,000 (convert to beds) • Original refrigerator present (not currently working, but parts are available if someone wants to keep the original unit) • A/C currently not working, but includes a new compressor — likely only needs the electric motor to complete the repair
Interior still reflects the classic design and charm. I almost considered reusing the original couch coverings because of how iconic the look is.
This trailer has never been in an accident and the body is in excellent condition.
Vintage Airstreams are unique and tend to appreciate over time. You can own something special that not only creates incredible memories but may increase in value as you care for it and enjoy it.
It’s an amazing classic Airstream with huge potential.
She’s a gem. I’m hoping she finds a good home with someone who will take her out, travel, and make great memories with her.
