PayPalThis is a Heavy Duty Banner/Backdrop Stand. The tubes are made of Aluminum and are roughly 1–1/2" in diameter. It uses tool free threaded connectors everywhere but on the feet, those are easy to tighten by hand by pressing on the screw and turning the tube.
This thing is huge! My wife is 5'6" and she is dwarfed by this thing. It uses collapsible bars that can be adjusted in length with pressure collets using knurled aluminum grips to tighten on the tube once extended. The basic configuration uses two adjustable height legs, two adjustable length crossbars, and a single adjustable height support bar that is placed in the middle of the upper crossbar to add support. There are also 4 extensions that can be used under the legs or in the middle of the crossbars to make either 12 feet long.
The minimum size is about 4' x 4'.
The maximum size without extensions is 8' x 8'.
With one extension in both the crossbars and legs it is ~10' x 10'.
With both extensions in the crossbars it is ~12' wide x 8' high.
With both extensions in the legs it is ~8' wide x 12' high.
It comes with a heavy duty canvas bag with dividers to protect the poles from the bases and reinforced endcaps to prevent tears. The connections are all done with threaded inserts. It shows a little wear on the edges where the tubes but into each other, but is in really good shape. The "paint" looks like some kind of anodized powder coating. The color is black.
It balances on level ground without any issues and stands up even in the light wind we were having while taking pictures. Indoors you shouldn't have any problems, but if using it outdoors with a banner on it, you will need sandbags or some other typw of weights to make it stable. For reference, a 10 mph wind would apply about 30 lbs of force against a banner this size. 20 mph is about 120 lbs of force and a 30 mph wind gust would be close to 300 lbs of force. If you had enough weight to keep it from tipping the base, it would probably bend the poles at 30 mph. If you intend to use it outside plan on using some rope and some tent stakes to create guy wires to hold it from both side at both corners.
I can't find a name brand anywhere on it and I haven't found an exact match on Amazon or eBay. Everything in this class and size is over $200 and everything with good reviews is $300+. I am asking $120.
