Hi! My wife and I are looking to adopt Guinea Pigs that people can no longer take care of. We’re experienced in Guinea Pig care and would be a great home with lots of space if you’re in need to rehome.
If you have a pig who’s friend recently passed away and you aren’t looking to get another one, we will happily take them in where they will live the rest of their life in the company of other pigs. Whether that be a few weeks or a few years. Generally, we’re looking to adopt pigs that are 5 years and above. If you have a male that has been neutered, we would be willing to adopt younger. Feel free to reach out even if your pig is not in that age range, the worst we can say is no!
We also offer taking in your Guinea Pig temporarily while you work to find them a forever home if you need to move them immediately. We offer pet sitting for Guinea pigs as well. We just ask that you provide what you can for us to take care of them. Enclosure and food stuff mostly. We don’t charge a fixed rate for either of these services but we ask that you pay what you can afford.
Since we take on all the care needed from the adoption point onward, we unfortunately cannot pay for the Guinea Pigs themselves. Older pigs can get sick fast and vet care tends to very expensive. However, rest assured that they will receive all the care they need. We might be open to possibly throwing you some gas money if you lived far away and were willing to bring them to us. We are in South Salt Lake.
Anyone who is interested in rehoming their pigs with us is welcome to come visit our home and spend some time before leaving. Post adoption updates, pictures and visits could also be arranged! We will also notify you when they do eventually pass and send whatever pictures and stories we have.
If you are interested, please send us a message with information on your pigs, their age and please do send pictures! :) Please let us know of any issues or aggressive behavior. It will not disqualify your pigs, it is only so that we are aware for their safety and the safety of our pigs.
We are not associated with any vet or animal services and are not an official organization. Just two people who have enjoyed taking care of Guinea Pigs who don’t have a lot of time left but are still in need of good company and attention.
If you’re someone who’s interested in doing something similar to us, feel free to reach out! We’d love to build a little community.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
