PayPalArtist: Luis Loyola (Signed and dated Peru - 95) Material: Rare Peruvian Olive Wood Root (Raíz de Olivo) Style: Natural Edge Hollow Form with Organic Open Voids Dimensions: 9 1/4 Diameter x 4 1/4 Height About the Piece: This is a museum-quality example of Studio Woodturning by master craftsman Luis Loyola. Created in 1995, this vessel is hand-turned from a single solid block of Olive Wood Root, a dense and luxury hardwood prized for its dramatic, high-contrast swirling grain and natural honey tones. Design Features: Hollow Form Geometry: A technically challenging closed-mouth vessel where the body is wider than the opening. Natural Voids: Loyola has masterfully preserved the natural inclusions and open gaps of the root system, creating a sculptural, organic aesthetic that follows the Wabi-Sabi philosophy of finding beauty in nature's imperfections. Live Edge Rim: The upper rim features the raw, rugged texture of the root's exterior, contrasting beautifully with the glass-smooth polished finish of the bowl's body. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The wood is stable and retains a beautiful natural luster. As is characteristic of 30-year-old Olive Root, there is minor natural checking (small drying lines) on the base, which does not affect the structural integrity or the display quality of the piece. Provenance: Signed by the artist on the base: Luis Loyola - Raíz de Olivo - Peru - 95. Located in Tooele, FCFS, Holds with 50% deposit only, sold as is, shipping / delivery available for a fee
