VenmoGrow your own pistachios! These are a newer hardy variety of nut tree.
Like most nut trees, you will need a male and female tree to produce pistachios.
These pistachio trees are hardy up to USDA zone 7. The rootstock is Yankee (UCB-1) with superior vigor and salt resistance. Pistachios love hot summers and are a solid nut trees for our high alkalinity soil. Historically older pistachio varieties (Kerman on older rootstocks) couldn't produce this far North.
The variety for the nut producer (female) is Golden Hills. It's upright and can be planted with 14-18 foot spacing. The male variety (pollination by wind) is Randy.
Minimum order is 2 trees. A female and male. Asking $50 each.
If you order 3 trees (1 male, 2 female) they are $40 each.
