ApplePayI decided to bundle and sell my entire backup DJ setup as one item, so you can just buy it and immediately start using it. At the center is a Pioneer DDJ-RZ controller which is intended to be an alternative to a complete CDJ + mixer setup. The company Pioneer is now called AlphaTheta and they are the standard for club equipment. If you get used to this controller you'll feel at home with the physical layout of CDJs at nightclubs. I've included everything you need except for the sound system and a power strip.
Includes:
- Pioneer (AlphaTheta) DDJ-RZ controller: This controller is the predecessor to the DDJ-1000 and is nearly identical. It's extremely heavy duty.
- Apple iMac (2017): This is an attractive Intel based iMac with an extremely nice Retina display. It's from 2017 and pretty slow but works okay, I used it for years. I installed the most recent version of OS X and I've setup the software and drivers for the controller already (which is slightly tricky, you need to change driver settings). I installed and registered Rekordbox 6.8.6 which is licensed when the DDJ-RZ is plugged in. Intel processor, AMD graphics card.
- Pioneer HDJ-X7 headphones: Professional headphones, they're heavy duty.
- Odyssey carrying case for the DDJ-RZ: Correct size carrying case with wheels, which is a good thing. The RZ is the size and weight of a battering ram, so having wheels is a good thing. It's covered in stickers so at least it's easy to find.
- iMac carrying case: I have a soft case for the iMac, also with wheels. It's slightly damaged and the only thing that's not in pristine condition. It also has wheels.
- Apple USBC -> USBA adapter: You don't need this for the setup but you do need it to make Rekordbox USB drives to take to clubs
- 2x USB cables, RCA cable, lightning cable for charging the mouse
- Apple Magic Mouse, wired keyboard, I have a wireless keyboard somewhere if I can find it
Anyway this is good quality equipment and this is a great deal for this much stuff. I don't love haggling so this price is firm. It's around $2000 worth of equipment (when bought used). The licensing and driver setup for the DDJ-RZ is slightly tricky so I figured that I'd include the computer since it's only worth around $400.
