Rebuilt 196cc OHV engine.
This engine originally had stripped exhaust threads, so I replaced it with a spare 196cc head. During the rebuild I upgraded and refreshed multiple parts to improve performance and reliability.
While rebuilding it I lapped the valves to the head to improve compression, installed 18 lb valve springs to help prevent valve float, added new exhaust studs, installed a new NGK spark plug, installed a new gas line and fuel filter, and wired a new kill switch myself because the original one was destroyed. I also upgraded from the stock carburetor to a VM22 and did a governor delete since it had already been bypassed before.
• VM22 carb • straight exhaust • ungoverned • 18 lb valve springs • valves lapped to the head for better compression • runs strong
5/8 crankshaft.
The intake manifold and the air filter are a little beat up, so I would recommend replacing them if you want a perfect look.
Engine is internally stock, so if you plan on running higher RPMs I would recommend upgrading to a billet rod and aluminum flywheel for safety. Stock internals are not meant to handle more than about 6500 RPM.
