I removed them mostly from surplus new-old stock modem packs and used them to construct E-bike battery packs. I recently got some brand new modem packs and simply clearing out the old ones in my shop. Mostly 2600 and 2200 milliamp-hour cells. Great for experimenters and making useful battery packs.
