This is a sub-woofer, speaker project I started, but now it needs to be finished and is for sale. The DIY requirements would be to build stands such that it will stand up by itself. The two 12" drivers would need to be wired in parallel and connected to a speaker cable. It could then be connected to a bass amplifier with typical sub-woofer adjustments. This would include a low-pass filter for bass-only and a gain (volume) control. You would then have an open-baffle sub-woofer which could suppliment any audio system for increased bass. The drivers are from a Pioneer speaker system and I no longer have those original cabinets. If you are a DIY type, you could end up with a nice Open baffle sub-woofer and all you would need is to complete the project and connect to an existing audio system. Single sub-woofers can usually be placed almost anywhere in an audio room, as the bass frequencies are non-directional. My DAC has two sets of outputs, controlled by a single volume control. I run one set of outputs to the main amplifier and the other to the sub-woofer amplifer. That way, the volume can be set and the volume control, controls both the main amplifier and the sub-amp.
