ZelleThe Ultimate Industrial Workhorse – Refurbished by Hobart & Unused Since.
Vintage Hobart S-601 60 Qt Commercial Mixer (c. 1945–48) – Tested Under Load + Complete Attachment System
Forget modern mixers with plastic parts and complex electronics. This vintage late 1940’s Hobart S-601 (based on serial #760258) is a masterpiece of American engineering, overbuilt to last several lifetimes. This specific unit was refurbished by Hobart in 2009 and has been kept in climate-controlled storage ever since. It is quite literally a "new" 80-year-old tank.
This is a true industrial bakery mixer and statement piece, built during an era when Hobart equipment was designed for continuous commercial operation and extreme longevity. These machines are known for their durability, serviceability, and consistent performance in demanding environments.
The mixer has been carefully stored since refurbishment and has now been tested and verified in operation, including mixing under load (video available).
The "Single-Phase" Advantage
Most 60-quart mixers require 3-Phase industrial power, costing thousands in electrical upgrades. This rare Single-Phase (230V) motor is "plug-and-play" for boutique bakeries, pizza shops, or high-end home labs.
The Package: Two Mixers in One
This is a complete industrial station. With the included Reduction Kit, you can switch from 60-quart heavy dough batches to 30-quart specialty pastry runs in seconds.
Proven Performance
· Verified Operation: Whisper-quiet transmission, Strong motor with consistent torque, runs smoothly across speeds.
· Condition: Clean cosmetic condition with intact original data plate. All gears, seals, and food-grade lubricants sound good.
· Tested: mixing dough under load (video available upon request)
️ Condition Note (Transparent & Priced Accordingly): During operation with the dough hook, there is a slight metallic noise caused by minor play in the attachment.
· This is typical for vintage Hobart equipment
· Does not affect performance or mixing capability
· No gear grinding, slipping, or motor strain observed
· Mixer maintains speed and handles load properly
Logistics
· Heavy commercial equipment (will require appropriate transport)
· Local pickup preferred
· Willing to coordinate freight shipping at buyer’s expense
Feature Details:
Power: 230V / Single Phase (Rare & Highly Desirable)
Capacity: 60 Quart + 30 Quart (Dual Setup)
