Players paid 25 cents to punch a hole to retrieve a small, rolled-up slip of paper. If the number on the slip matched one of the winning numbers listed at the top of the board, the player won a cash prize typically ranging from $5.00 to $15.00. These boards were also called trade stimulators used to encourage customers to spend more time and money in establishment.
