Ancistrus Wabenmuster Size-1.25-2 Other common names are Honeycomb Pleco. The honeycomb bristlenose but frequently mistaken for a L519 Rio Honeycomb is also an attractive Pleco species. Imported from Brazil but the collectors don’t know the origin it has been named by the Germans “Wabenmuster” for -Honeycomb Pattern- The juviniles develop the pattern when young and will have the white edge on the back caudel fin which really makes me love this species even more. I prefer these instead of the rios because of how many tones and fun shades you could get when selectively breeding this fish! Theses guys are not that hard to keep and are adapted to the tap water here locally. I (to my knowledge) am the few people in Utah that have these for sale or going. My breeding group consists of 2 Males 4 Females and younger pairs are being setup in 10 gallons marking the second generation that I have been selectively breeding for the golden and dark edged honeycomb patterning. If you would like to get these breeding I would recommend purchasing a group of 5 for the best chances of getting both a male and a female. They are fairly not picky and will be very happy with normal conditions and a wide variety of water parameters.
