Meet Jasper and Nyx,
Jasper (Jazz) is a 17yo grade paint mare, she's 14.2hh She's broke to ride, no kick, bite, rear, bolt, ect. She's utd on vaccines including her rabies, although she does need to be dewormed sometime soon.
Her only maintenance is a small dose of bute before a longer ride because she has some very early onset arthritis in her hind right leg, it doesn't bother her at at walk/trot on a shorter ride but anything more and we do the bute.
She's so so sweet and we love her to pieces, she's the perfect mix of kind and sassy, not bad sassy, but she definitely has her moments of personality as any horse does,
She doesn't spook easily, she isn't barn or buddy sour and she's incredibly smart when it comes to learning new things.
We'd keep her if we could but my daughter has health issues that keep her from riding so we've decided to get out of horses.
Nyx is an 8yo grade paso fino mare, 14hh utd on vaccines as well, but she'll need to be dewormed soon too. she's incredibly gaited and very fun to be around, she's absolutely sweet as pie on the ground when you're petting her face,
That being said, we suspect she was abused by previous owners, she gets absolutely petrified when people stand on her right side and she doesn't like having her back hooves touched, they wear down on their own though and she does fine with having her fronts handled.
She's very nervous about new people and is slow to trust because of her past,
And unfortunately she's not currently ridable, she got kicked in the leg and has had a limp since, vet and farrier have said that it can likely be fixed if a chiropractor comes out and adjusts her. The suspicion is that her leg healed with her hip joint slightly out of place.
After trying several other things, the chiropractor is a pretty new suggestion, so we haven't had time to get one out yet unfortunately and my daughter hasn't been able to do much with her because of health issues.
She has the potential to be an incredible horse, and before she got injured she was dead broke under saddle, very responsive and fun to ride, a bit fidgety because of her breed, but nothing unmanageable.
These two are going as a pair, we're selling Jasper for $3000, and Nyx is free as her companion. They are very close. We want them to go to a good home where their new people will understand their quirks and be willing to give them what they deserve. My daughter absolutely loves these horses and we wish we could keep them.
But they deserve more than what we can offer right now,
