VenmoFor sale: antique sacrament table This unique piece was used in the historic East Millcreek Ward that was located at the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and 2700 East.
A brief history: After meeting in homes, the LDS congregation built a log cabin meeting place sometime between 1853–1856, and then a second log schoolhouse/meetinghouse around 1859 (both later demolished). In 1877–1878, a brick meetinghouse was built at the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and 2700 East. It served as worship space and a social hall, and school was held there until 1893 (when a separate district school was built). The meetinghouse was remodeled again in the 1950s, during a period when ward boundaries shifted (Grandview and Evergreen wards split off). The historic East Mill Creek Ward meetinghouse was “razed and replaced in the 1970s.”
This sacrament table was purchased and removed from the old building in the mid 1970’s when the building was demolished. It now needs a new home. Contact me for information for the sale of this piece.
Dimensions: L:71’’ H:29’’ W:28’’
