PayPalDana Audio Model 2f floorstanding speakers. Dana Audio was a boutique "factory-direct" company based in Austin, Texas, during the early to mid-1990s. They gained a cult following among audiophiles for offering high-performance sound at extremely competitive prices by cutting out the retail middleman. Technical Profile The Model 2f was designed to solve the "boxiness" common in affordable speakers of that era. Cabinet Design: It features a unique semi-cylindrical, dampened rear cabinet (wrapped in black cloth) mated to a flat, solid oak-veneered front baffle. This design was intended to reduce internal standing waves and improve imaging. Drivers: * Tweeter: A high-quality SEAS 1" aluminum dome tweeter. Interestingly, this is the same tweeter used in several much more expensive high-end speakers from that decade. Woofer: A standard 8" poly-cone woofer that provides a surprisingly full and tight bass response. Sound Profile: They are known for an effortless, smooth musicality with an expansive soundstage, often compared to speakers that cost three to four times their original retail price.
