This is a forge that I built. The bottom is made with a layer of 2800 degree insulating fire Brice and then half an inch of refractory poured on top.

The top is made with three inches of inswool fire blanket and then covered in refractory.

The burner is a forced air ribbon burner. It heats up the forge extremely well I have been able to forge weld in it no problem. I typically use extra fire bricks to close off one side and nose of the other side to help trap heat in the dials on the side create a highly tunable system for both propane and air delivery.

I also have lots of extra inswool blanket and fire brick for future maintenance though I don’t see it needing it for many hundreds of hours more of use
