Up for sale is the iconic Omega Seamaster GMT Ref. 2234.50.00, released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Seamaster line. This model features the sought-after "Speedmaster-style" bracelet and the high-contrast "Great White" style black wave dial. Based on the 81.5 million serial, this example was produced circa 2007-2008, toward the end of the production run for this reference.
Condition: • Bezel: Original bi-directional bezel. Please note a small flake/chip in the black insert near the 5:30 marker and another minor mark near 7. The clicking mechanism is crisp and firm. • Crystal: Domed sapphire crystal is clean with no visible scratches to the naked eye. The internal AR coating remains intact. • Case & Bracelet: Serial number 8155#### is crisp and present on the movement bridge. The bracelet shows typical light desk diving marks but great shape. (Note: External lug etching has been smoothed from a previous polish, but movement serial confirms 100% authenticity). Also looking at other listings I couldn’t not see any other example with serial on the lug so it’s possible it’s just not on there for this edition.
Authenticity & Movement Health: The movement is the Omega Calibre 1128 (GMT chronometer). Verified for authenticity and performance: • Matching Serials: Serial number 8155#### is clearly engraved on the movement • Beat Rate: Timegrapher confirms a rock-solid 28,800 VPH (4Hz), correct for this calibre. • Performance: Trace is exceptionally clean and straight. Beat error is a perfect 0.0ms, indicating a very healthy balance. • Health: The watch is currently running at 0 s/d dial up with a strong amplitude of 258°, showing excellent timekeeping stability and no signs of magnetism. While many listings at this age are due for service, this example is performing at COSC specs
Specs: • Size: 41mm diameter | 20mm lug width • Movement: Omega 1128 (Automatic GMT, COSC Certified) • Depth: 300m (30 ATM) • Power Reserve: ~44 Hours • Includes: Watch only (sized for approx. 7.5" wrist).
