Venmo8-year-old registered AQHA gelding I purchased in July 2024. He passed a solid vet check when I bought him and has stayed sound with nothing noteworthy to report. Papers in hand.
Very friendly horse, dog gentle in the pasture, and gets along well with other horses. Not dominant and easy to turn out with others. Good to catch and saddle.
He is bred for speed—grandson of PYC Paint Your Wagon (sire is Wagons West) and out of a Woodbridge-bred mare. He showed good speed on the track earlier in life. He is not an especially big horse, standing around 15 hands.
Because of his race background he can occasionally be a little pushy when leading, but overall he’s manageable and rides very nice with a good handle and smooth gait. He is generally pretty docile and easygoing.
This horse really shines outside. He is especially good in the hills and has a big motor. I haven’t found the bottom of him yet—he’ll go all day and be ready to do it again the next day.
Spent last summer being used by cowboys gathering cattle and even had a little roping done on him.
Recently rode him again this spring after some time off and he was really good. Walk, trot, lope, stop, back, side pass, and pivot. Neck reins pretty well. I even tried something new, dragging a tire around, and he handled that well.
Turned out in very large pastures with a lot of horses he can have a harder time maintaining body condition, but in smaller runs or with just a couple horses he does great. Good conformation and a good-looking horse.
Being upfront: he does not do well in high-action timed event settings with chutes banging and horses running. In those situations he struggles to focus like he normally does. If he does get spooked his first instinct is to try to turn and move away, but I’ve been able to get him back and work him through it. With consistent time and exposure he could possibly continue to improve and eventually be okay around more action, but I simply do not have the time to put into him right now.
Up to date on vaccinations and worming. Recently shod on May 8th.
I originally bought him as a performance prospect but I simply don’t have the time he will require to finish him in the arena like I had hoped.
Message or call me if interested. I have several videos of my first two rides on him this year within the last week.
