VenmoI bought this to see if my wife and I would be into rowing, and the dust on the machine tells me we aren’t.
It’s an older Concept2 Model D (same body and components they still make today, minus some color swaps) with the PM3 monitor on it.
However, the monitor isn’t recording data. Everything I’m reading on Reddit and C2 forums tells me it’s the “power generator assembly” (that relays stroke rate, RPM, time rowing, etc. to the monitor).
The replacement from Concept2 is $20+shipping (I’ll include links below), but I haven’t gotten around to it since we aren’t using the machine much.
Everything works well, aside from the data issue. The screen powers up, and there is no damage to the chain, seat, slide, damper, etc. It’s a good machine.
If you’re looking to just row, or interested in swapping the generator assembly (which looks quite easy) and getting a concept2 for cheap, this is the machine for you*.
*If you swap the generator and the monitor starts recording again, this is probably worth $450-500, so you’ll build equity in the process.
Here’s the part I’m 95% sure you need (I would truly be shocked if this wasn’t it): https://www.concept2.com/product/102
And here’s the install instructions: https://cms.concept2.com/sites/default/files/pdf/us/indoor-rowers/D_GeneratorBaseCoilReplace.pdf
