Tomato cages made from welded 10 gauge concrete reenforcing wire (https://www.homedepot.com/p/5-ft-x-150-ft-Steel-Mesh-Roll-05042/206154692)
$16 each
I have 4 new and 1-2 older ones. Cages are made from 6.5 ft of 5 ft tall wire and can be resized from 19 to 23 inches in diameter. Openings are 6"x6". Cages are zip tied and can be opened and laid flat. I'll send 4 new zip ties with each cage.
The wire does rust but in about 3-4 years will develop a deep dark red patina and won't rub off rust on anything.
We expanded the garden in 2025 and bought a full roll of wire last year and simply have too many of these things.
If you grow indeterminate tomatoes you need these. Attached are 2 pics from last year. By September 15, all 14 tomato plants were well over 6 ft tall...we were processing tomatoes into December however and won't be doing 14 plants again.
