This guitar is in excellent condition. It plays so beautifully, full sound, clear, deep lows and crystal clear highs. Note the gorgeous details: the beautiful koa back and sides, the cool red trim and abolone & red rosette. It has a few very minor cosmetic marks, due to its vintage age (serial number indicates it was made in 1994), but plays perfectly. Note the label! These guitars were handbuilt in Japan, and signed by the luthier. They are high-end, premium instruments.
Here is more info about this guitar from the internet:
Master luthier Mas Hirade joined Takamine in the late 1960s. He oversaw limited-production instruments built by a single luthier, some models by Hirade himself. Featuring a solid Cedar top and a nicely figured laminate Koa back and sides, this guitar has a very nicely rounded, warm tone with a crisp high end and tons of projection when pushed.
The Hirade K-5 is a premium, handcrafted classical guitar from the 1990s, built in Takamine's specialized workshop in Sakashita, Japan. Designed under the supervision of master luthier Mass Hirade, the K-5 is celebrated by classical players for its warm, rounded tone and beautiful cosmetic details.Key SpecificationsBody Shape: Traditional ClassicalTop: Solid CedarBack & Sides: Highly figured Koa wood (often laminated on the K-5 for durability against cracking)Neck: MahoganyFingerboard & Bridge: RosewoodNut Width: Standard 2-inch classical width Hardware: Gold classical-style tunersNotable FeaturesMarquetry Details: Features beautiful inlaid abalone and red fiber around the soundhole rosette.Playability: Unlike many high-end classical guitars that skip the truss rod to save weight, the Hirade K-5 features an adjustable neck, making it highly adaptable to changes in climate and string tension.Tone: Because of the Koa back and sides and solid cedar top, the K-5 produces a warmer, "sweeter" tone with a crisp high end and good projection compared to traditional rosewood models.
I have a brand new hardshell case for this guitar.
