VenmoCLEAN 1983 Catalina 30 Tall Rig up for sail (pun intended)
This has been a great boat, we just don't use it as often as we thought we would. Everything on this boat works, she is in great shape. The deck shows minimal signs of wear. The interior is fairly clean with some minor wear on the cushions. This boat is stored at the Strawberry Bay marina year round. It comes with a trailer, and the slip fees for a 30 foot slip with power there at the marina. Strawberry is a awesome place to sail and get away from the summer heat.
This boat comes with a ton of different sails. The main sail is in great condition, and all the jib/genoa sails are also in great shape. This boat has a furling system for the genoa. With the boat comes a 150% Genoa, a 130% Genoa, a symmetrical and A-symmetrical spinnaker, and a few others.
The hull is in great shape. There are no signs of Catalina smile. She could use bottom paint in the next few years but currently its not too bad. When we originally bought the boat the rudder had a substantial amount of play in it. Last year we fixed that with a rudder bearing and epoxy kit, so its tight and ready to go for another 30+ years.
This boat has a Bimini that covers the entire cockpit. It also comes with a winter cover, and a complete cockpit cover if you ever wanted to sail in the rain and stay dry. It also comes with a grill that mounts to the rear stanchion, and a bunch of other cool stuff.
The standing rigging is in good shape. None of the wires are showing signs of fray or wear. The running rigging is decent. The main halyard should be replaced at some point, but the rest of it is in good shape.
The interior has had a propane conversion done. So no alcohol stove. It has an oven, and a two burner propane stove. It has a stereo with two speakers underneath and two in the cabin. You can comfortably sleep 4 people on the boat. We regularly have two adults, one kid and two dogs on the boat and it doesn't feel too cramped for space.
This boat is super fun to sail. I've personally had it up to 7 knots itself. The tall rig boats really do make a big difference, and having the ability to furl the sail in or out is a bonus. The boat comes with a digital depth finder, wind readout, and hull speed indicator.
This boat has a folding prop, and a Universal M25 diesel engine. It only has around 250 hours on the engine so still tons of life on it. The previous owner changed out a bunch of parts on the cooling system so its good to go for quite some time. All engine gauges and functions work.
I really do love this boat, we just don't use it very often. Its great for having a bunch of family and friends on for a sail, and comfortable to sleep quite a few. Currently its on the trailer in the Strawberry Bay dry storage area so if you want to take a look at it while its on the trailer you will want to set that up in the next couple weeks before she goes in the water.
We paid 12K for this boat summer of 2024, and have done some work to her over the last couple years. Asking 11K OBO. Message with questions.
