VenmoI built this using the Dayton flat pack and the Ultimax 18” subwoofer.
It works perfectly. Super powerful, can handle 1000w RMS. It weights close to 130 lbs.
I put a lot of research and work into it. I reenfoeced the inner corners, and coated the inside and all seams with fiberglass resin. I used the recommended amount of polyfil.
To keep it perfectly sealed I used heavy duty speaker taps instead of a cutout. I wired it so there is a set per voice coil, so you can easily run as dual 2 ohm setup or a single 4 ohm. Heavy duty wiring on the inside.
The castors are built to handle 1100lbs. Also, they have the wheels but also a foot that you can lower and adjust. Makes it easy to move (but not lift).
Cons: I didn’t finish the outside. There is a bit of melted candy on the top, I was planning on sanding it for paint but never got around to it. So cosmetically it’s kind of ugly, but functionally the box is overbuilt (in the good way). Just some sanding and paint and youll have the equivalent of a $2000 subwoofer. The driver is facing down. I originally wanted to mount a chess board to the top, or paint it like a Minecraft cube, but life’s too busy.
Happy to demo, the sub location and room setup is poor but you’ll get a sense of its massive potential.
