John (Jan) Juzek was a renowned Czech violin maker whose instruments from the 1920s are respected for their excellent craftsmanship, powerful tone, and playability. Built on strong Guarneri-inspired models, these violins from the golden era of Czech making are prized by advancing students, professionals, and collectors. This petite model is ideal for petite adults or players wanting a responsive instrument with a more manageable size. It still delivers a surprisingly rich, mature sound with excellent projection. The spruce top shows attractive tight grain with nice gradation — an important factor for resonance and sound quality. The one-piece maple back has appealing flame, and the varnish has developed a warm, aged patina with deep reddish tones over its 100+ years. I personally took this violin to Japan and performed with it during my mission — it has traveled the world and held up beautifully under real performance demands.
