Manufactured by Landers, Frary & Clark (L.F.&C.) out of New Britain, Connecticut, this model was first introduced in the late 1890s and remained a popular staple in American kitchens well into the mid-20th century.

The "No. 333" indicates that this is an extra-large, heavy-duty commercial or large-household version of their standard grinder. It weighs significantly more than the standard household models (like the No. 1 or No. 2) and features a much wider hopper chute.

This this model features a built-in screw-down clamp at the bottom. This allowed the user to temporarily attach it to the edge of a kitchen table or countertop and store it away when done.
