A must-have for audiophiles, vintage enthusiasts, or anyone building a '70s-inspired setup – this receiver transforms ordinary audio into an immersive event!
Key Features & Specs: Power Output: 35 W RMS per channel (8 ohms) – Handles demanding speakers with headroom for peaks. Tuner: AM/FM stereo with AFC (Automatic Frequency Control) – Pulls in stations with minimal drift or noise. Inputs: 4 total (Phono with RIAA equalization, Aux, Tuner, Tape Monitor) – Versatile for phono cartridges, CD players, or tape decks. Outputs: Speaker A/B terminals (4–16 ohms) – Bi-wiring capable for advanced setups. Controls: Loudness, balance, bass/treble (±10dB), FM sensitivity selector – Fine-tune for any source or room. Build: Woodgrain side panels, metal chassis – Weighs 25 lbs for vibration damping and longevity. Why the SX-737? A Vintage Audio Legend: The Pioneer SX-737 remains a holy grail for retro audio fans, blending robust power with refined soundstaging that modern receivers struggle to match. Its phono stage revives turntables with warmth, while the tuner locks distant signals like a champ – imagine cranking "Stairway to Heaven" on FM or "Kind of Blue" on vinyl with that analog glow. Collectors rave about its reliability (few caps fail if serviced), and it's a gateway to tube amps without the hassle. Pair it with AR speakers or a Technics turntable for a setup that transports you to 1975 – or use it standalone for casual listening that punches above its weight. This SX-737 is more than gear; it's a time machine for music lovers seeking that irreplaceable '70s vibe!
Pro Tip: Run through a tube preamp for extra warmth, or bi-wire to your mains for imaging magic – the SX-737's headroom shines with efficient speakers like KLH or Advent. If you're curating a vintage rack, this is the crown jewel!
PIONEER SX-737 AM/FM STEREO RECEIVER, VINTAGE CLASSIC made in Japan
one picture shows knob missing but that was found. A couple knobs are bent. The FM light is out. Aux input seems to sound great. Fm seems to sound great. Phono didn't sound to good not sure if that is user error or needs a new cap on that one or not. Have not opened up and have no back history on this unit. some slight damage on the case in the back mainly the corners and some other small ones but top and front seems to be pretty clean.
