Theo is such a good boy. He is a Labrador Retriever Bernese Mountain dog mix turning 2 in September and weighing in at about 80 lbs. He is very sweet and loves his ball, being outside and cuddling. He has a double coat in some areas and luscious wavy hair on top of that. He loves being brushed.

Theo needs a new home so he can have his best life. He currently lives successfully with another dog. However, Theo has had a few issues with other dogs, typically male dogs. He has not been raised around children and even though he has behaved well around children, because he has not had prolonged time with them and he is so large, he would do best in a home without children. I travel for work and during those times he has not done well being left with a boarder, even when he knows the boarder and other dogs. He likes to stay in his environment or with his person. Someone with a lifestyle that permits him to stay in his environment would be best.

He always has a ball in his mouth and loves to retrieve and he has a strong sense of smell. I think if someone was willing to train him he could potentially be great at hunt retrieving, shed hunting or farm/flock protecting. He knows sit, stay/wait, shake, come, load up, potty commands but he could use some refreshing, especially on recall. He needs to be leash trained. He kennels just fine but does not like dogs walking past his kennel.

He loves fresh banana, bell pepper, and ice cubes. He will sit next to you on the couch, wait for you at the top of the stairs until you're ready to go downstairs, sit on your feet while you wash dishes and sleep on his back with all four paws in the air.

I want to make sure he goes to someone who is committed to loving him deeply and giving him his best chance at a good life. This is a very painful choice but I cannot deny him what would best suit him. KSL requires I put in a fee amount, I really care about placeing him well and less about a fee.
