Meet Margaret, one of the sweetest little Mini Jersey heifers we've raised. She was completely bottle-fed from birth, is worked with daily by children, and is already very well halter trained. If you're looking for a future family milk cow that is easy to handle and genuinely enjoys people, Margaret deserves a look.
At just 22" tall at birth, Margaret started life tiny. Her dam, Hattie, stands 46" tall and has a beautiful, productive udder, while her sire stands just 40" tall. Based on her genetics and growth pattern, we expect Margaret to mature at approximately 42" or less, making her an excellent homestead-sized dairy cow.
🧀 Outstanding Cheese-Making Genetics
Margaret carries:
Her BB Kappa Casein result is especially desirable for dairy producers. The BB genotype is associated with increased milk protein and casein content and is considered the most favorable genotype for cheese production, often resulting in better cheese yield and firmer curds.
Why We Like Margaret
Excellent disposition Daily interaction with children Completely bottle fed Well halter trained Homestead-sized Mini Jersey Beautiful feminine head and dairy character Strong maternal line through Hattie Exceptional cheese-making genetics Polled genetics in her pedigree
Margaret combines the manageable size that homesteaders love with the dairy genetics serious milk producers appreciate. She is the kind of calf that is easy to fall in love with and will make a wonderful family milk cow in the years ahead.
