Venmo1999 Pokémon Japanese Southern Islands Promo. Complete Set for sale
My son was collecting Pokémon cards back in 1999-2000, while at the local shop where I would take him to buy packs of cards I saw these promotional Southern Islands sets: I decided to buy 2 - 18 card sets (36 cards) for myself to save. They were kept in a secure locker for the past 27 years. The packs stayed factory sealed/unopened until a few months ago, I took them to a local Card shop that does frequent shipping to PSA to show them; they and some customers in the shop were excited just to even see these 12 packs (3 cards per pack); I decided to have the shop carefully open the original plastic wrap and place each card into a protective sleeve, then into hard plastic cases for shipment to PSA to be graded. (cost $1,210) after 4 months I finally got them back. I am 72 yrs. old, have had these 2 sets for 27 yrs. and decided it is time to sell them; recently on fox business they started talking about Pokémon cards and how they keep gaining in value; investment aspects involved here since these are so unique and desired. One cool thing about these cards is that part or whole different characters can also be seen on them!
These cards are in pristine condition, you won't see any "Pocket Monsters" that are more beautiful than these! In April 2026 I had a professional photographer take pics of the entire 2 graded sets ($200), unfortunately I couldn't time stamp those pics, I took some basic pics so that I could post. This set also includes the original packs that have untouched "Post Cards" inside; the packs were slid back inside of the original plastic coverings, some still have Japanese price tags on, all of this is included. The set comes with the 6 packs, 3 of them are Tropical Island (jungle, beach, sea) and 3 are Rainbow Island (sky, riverside, fields of flowers). Tropical Island artwork was done by Naoyo Kimura, Rainbow Island artwork is by Keiko Fukuyama. *Every slab is Sequenced in exact order, which adds value to the set (look at last 2 #'s) fronts and back. They have scan codes on them. These are beauties and complete, graded sets of 18 cards are highly sought after, plus each slab has a sealed plastic covering sleeve over it for extra protection, plus it adds value to the set! This set (and set #2) is a Hot item that any serious collector would love to own! If interested I would be glad to send the link (need to see the Link!) that the photographer put together (using google photos) to you via Facebook messaging if that is allowed, or I will send it by email so you can zoom in on the fine details, if you click on any of the groups of pics on the link and start to scroll closer, a little black box appears on upper right, you can use that "screen shot feature" to maneuver and be able to look at close detail of each slab, etc.
